With 49 deviations in the unread pile and 15 messages (12 journals and 3 misc.) to go through, I think it's about time I woke up.

LOVELOVELOVE:

Took a break from deviantArt after my break-up, as to keep my deviations clear of emo-ness, or your ordinary, boring, "now you're gone and everything is black" type of thing which might have spilled out if I had known there'd be an audience.

Just as an informative little thingy, uhm, my boyfriend of four months ~NinjaLoboBrother came to the conclusion in January that our relationship was a bit of strain -- which, I later realised as well, it was. Two teens in a long distance relationship that forced us to be apart for months at a time is never healthy.

We're still the best of friends, of course, so all's well when it ends well.

And with spring coming, the love bug bit again and I'm happy with an amazing guy in my Latin class. Spinning around like a butterfly all over again.

Gosh, don't you just hate hormones and what they do to you?

MISCELLANEOUS:

Portuguese weather is happily April-like, which is odd even here, where usually until March it's turtle-necks and woolly jumpers. We'll see where this year takes us.

WRITINGS:

I'll be taking part in a national youth writing competition which involves a prize of 500€, and which is being judged by three of the most renouned Portuguese writers. I'm entering "Raquel", "Für Elise", and a compilation of sonnets. Wish me luck!

SCHOOL:

Oh GOSH! Life's GOOD! History, Philosophy, Latin and PE have been so much fun lately, classes just fly by!

As for Geography, Portuguese and English, I won't get into those. Grades are high as usual, which is probably why I no longer consider either of these a challenge.

As of next week, my diploma will be coming back with a sparkling "A" on it. It represents my "Pass" in the ESOL Exam of the University of Cambridge -- "Certificate of Procifiency in English." It's equivalent to a college graduation in most countries.

TO THE DEVIANTS STICKING WITH ME:

I love you for your patience. I really do.

Enough blabber... Now I go off to clear out deviations. Pardon, friends *bows*

Vent.

I hate him
for hating himself
I hate him
because I have to share him
I hate him
for making me cry every single night
and mornings too
I hate him
because I can't stop loving him
I hate him
because he won't lie to me
I hate him
because he needs me
I hate him
because I need him
I hate him
because I can't
won't
mustn't
won't
can't
leave him.

My New Passion

Normally, I would not consider myself skillful enough in English OR Spanish to translate a full-blown poem, but I needed to bring to you the works of Pablo Neruda, and the translations I found on the web left a lot to be desired. So I took my shot.

«I Love You Here

I love you here.
In the dark pines the wind unravels.
The moon phospours over the errant waters.
Same days chase one another.

The mist descends in dancing figures.
A silver seagull is apart from the susnet.
Sometimes a candle. Tall, tall, stars.

Or the black cross of a boat.
Alone.
Sometimes I dawn, and even my soul is moist.
The faraway sea dreams, snores.
This is a harbour.
I love you here.

I love you here and vainly does the horizon hide you.
I love you still amongst these cold things.
Sometimes my kisses go in those severe boats
that race through the sea until where they won't reach.

I see myself forgotten like these old achors.
The wharves are sadder when the afternoon berths.
My uselessly hungry life tires.
I love what I do not have. You are so far away.

My weariness struggles with slow twilights.
But the night arrives and begins to sing me.
The moon spins her road of dream.

The biggest stars stare at me with your eyes.
And because I love you, the pines in the wind
want to sing your name with their wire leaves.»

«Naked

Naked you are simple as one of your hands,
Smooth, earthly, minimal, round, transparent,
You have lines of moon, paths of apple,
Naked you are lean as the naked wheat.

Naked you are blue as the night in Cuba,
You have vines and stars in your hair,
Naked you are huge and yellow
Like summer in a church made of gold.

Naked you are small like one of your nails,
Curved, subtle, pink until the day is born
And you go into the underground world
Like in a wide tunnel of clothing and chores:
Your light goes out, dresses, sheds its leaves
And again becomes a naked hand.»

Sorry about the sad translating job -__-
Poetry fans:
Pablo Neruda = Must read. Look for something a tad more professional than what I just whipped up xD
And if you know enough Spanish, read the original. His language is not complicated at all and is well worth it.

Thanks for the attention!

Has anybody gotten their hands on any recent studies that really PROVE that talking on your mobile phone too much is brain damaging?

I've been on the phone a bit over two hours per day. Maybe that'll make my children be born with two heads or something.

Meh, it's worth it.

And when he smiles on the phone, I can hear it in his voice, and it's the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.
